Mediterranean Gardens

dscf0001To illustrate dry gardens and the best plants to use.

A Mediterranean garden generally gets less rainfall than a British one. Plants are deliberately chosen to survive in areas where there is little or no rain for several months of the year.

Woody herbs such as rosemary, thyme and lavender are excellent for drier conditions.  Grasses and cistus (the rock rose) thrive.

Fruit and olive trees do well.
